STAND Training

A Statement of Policy For the Protection of Children and Youth

In order to comply with the Archdiocese of Baltimore's policy to provide a safe environment for all children and youth entrusted to the Church's care, it will be necessary for Saint Margaret Parish to obtain a completed Application for Volunteer Services and Consent Form for Criminal History Screening from all those wishing to volunteer in ministry.  These forms are available at the Parish
Office or may be downloaded here.

In addition to these forms, you will need to submit a certificate of completion of the STAND Online Training to our Screening Coordinator. See below for instructions.

We are pleased to announce that the Archdiocese of Baltimore's safe environment (STAND) online training is now up and running. Either the STAND video or online training fulfills the child and youth protection safe environment training requirement for all volunteers who have substantial contact with children and all employees. The online training will be available via the Internet from any computer at any time.
  
The course takes approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to complete. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will be able to print a certificate of completion. The participant will be asked to enter his/her name as well as the name of his/her parish or school. Note that this step MUST be completed
in order to receive credit for the course. The screening coordinator must sign and date the certificate of completion when the form is turned in to the parish or school.
 
In order to access the online training please do the following. From the Archdiocese of Baltimore website: www.archbalt.org :
  
   1.  Place your cursor on the tab About Us
  
   2.  Scroll down and select Child & Youth Protection
  
   3.  Select the STAND Online Training page link (left column)
  
   4.  Click on the STAND Online Training link
  
   5.  Click to enter the Password Protected Training site
   
   6.  Please READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS, then enter username and password.
   
        The User Name is:  stmargaret               The Password is:  archbalt
  
   7.  Click to begin training.
  
   8.  Print certificate at end of training and submit it to the volunteer screening coordinator
        for verification.
