Good Shepherd Scholarship - $1500 Prize
Application Deadline - March 1, 2015
Persons treated unjustly can lose the opportunity to live life abundantly. While the Mother Teresa Human Life Comission recognizes that there is injustice all over the world, the Scholarship asks that we focus on our neighboring brothers and sisters in need. The goal is to encourage a high school student, who is also a Saint Margaret parishioner, to design and  develop a community outreach project that reflects one of the seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching: Life and Dignity of the Human Spirit; Call to Family; Community and Participation; Rights and Responsibilities; Options for the Poor and Vulnerable; The Dignity of work and the Rights of Workers; Solidarity and Care for God's Creation. The proposed project MUST be one that will affect individuals in Harford County. This project might impact your school, neighborhood or some other person or persons in the local community.

Finalists will be asked to interview with the selection committee. The winner will be announced by March 15, 2015. The recipient must carry out and complete all project work by December 31, 2015. For questions or more information, please contact Jane O'Hara in the parish office, 410-838-6969, ext. 143 or johara@stmargaret.org.
