Faith Formation Registration

Grades PreK-8

Registration deadline is August 29, 2024

Grade PreK and K Sunday 10:00 AM-11:15 AM – Our Sunday program welcomes children ages three through five to gather together in a classroom setting. During this time, children will begin to learn about their Catholic faith through lessons featuring Bible stories, music, crafts, prayer, games, and more. Classes are held in the St. Margaret Preschool building located next to the church on the main campus. Catechists are trained and are VIRTUS certified through the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Children must be completely potty trained to be able to attend. Contact Lisa Hack, 410-838-6969, ext. 102.

Grades K-5 Wednesdays 6:00 PM-7:15 PM – Children grades K-5 learn what it means to be followers of Jesus. In the classroom, children learn Catholic tradition and doctrine as catechists implement faith sharing through prayer and Scripture. Family gatherings take place four times throughout the school year in the church and are required as part of the Faith Formation program. Program runs from late September through April. Contact Lisa Hack, 410-838-6969, ext. 102.

Grades 1, 3, 4, & 5 Home Study – Parents are provided with materials and resources to home-school their child in our Catholic Faith. Families gather four times throughout the school year for family catechesis, which may include activities, stories, music, and scripture. All family gatherings will be held Tuesday evenings in the mission. The Home Study option is not available for 2nd grade Faith Formation as this is a year of preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. In-person class is required for all incoming 2nd grade students. Contact Lisa Hack, 410-838-6969, ext. 102.

Grades 6-8 Wednesdays 7:00 PM-8:15 PM – Classes meet in the Middle School Building on the St. Mary Magdalen Mission Campus September through April. This program allows the youth to meet in small grade appropriate groups with catechists and the coordinator, to explore the four pillars of the Catholic faith. We do this through prayer, catechism, scripture, activities, service projects, and large group gatherings with parents. Contact Marylee Archer, 410-838-6969, ext. 177.

Grades 6 & 7 Home Study – The program provides parents with materials and support to home school their youth through the four pillars of our Catholic faith. Large group gatherings with both parents and their youth take place six times during the school year on Tuesday evenings. This provides opportunities for parents and teen to grow together in their faith. Chapter quizzes and attendance are the primary ways we assess successful participation in this program. The Home Study option is not available for 8th grade Faith Formation as this is a year of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. In-person class is required for all incoming 8th grade students. Contact Marylee Archer, 410-838-6969, ext. 177.
